Every year the Vans US Open of Surfing brings together the best of music, action sports and fashion to Huntington Beach. It just so happens these festivities go on directly across the street from our Agency. So we figured, why not get in on the fun? For the 2019 US open The United Collective presented a fun activation concept to our client got milk? To turn our gym into a skatepark, or more appropriately, a "Shredquarters." A zone for skaters, kids, parents, and anyone really to come cool off, have a refreshment, skate, or just hang. We brought together our Bones Love Milk Skate team including Christian Hasoi, Tom Asta, and Chris Cole to coach and skate with kids, we had a photo exhibit with legendary images from Grant Brittan, live shoe drawing sessions with Vans and Steve Caballero, we had a milk bar, hair cutting station, fun photobooth experiences, a live screen printer giving away t shirts, a resident DJ , US open and SLS watch parties, live graffiti art by Thomas Fernandez, and all day free skate. Whew, yea it was exhausting, but a lot of fun...especially for the lil guys!
